Description
Why Laser Safety? Even at lower power output levels, it is possible to cause irreversible ocular injury from a single accidental exposure to a direct or reflected laser beam, depending on the wavelength, output and exposure duration. Laser safety can prevent damage to equipment as well. An important factor in determining damage potential is irradiance, the power per area, expressed in watt/cm2. Daylight Transmission (VLT) and Color Vision When we wear laser safety glasses, some wavelengths of the spectrum that would normally reach our eyes are filtered out. If we block light from the visible region, this inevitably changes our perception of our environment. First, the attenuation of transmission in the environment increases, causing a darkening effect—similar to the effect of sunglasses. Second, blocking certain wavelengths will change our perception of color. Professional and Certified Our laser safety glasses are all certificated by Celab company, the certification number is 802809035823 which can confirmed with Celab company. The valid date is from Mar 30, 2020 to Mar 19, 2024. High Quality Filters FreeMascot offers advanced collection of polymer or polycarbonate laser safety eyewear filters. These glasses should protect one's eyes against the stated laser wavelengths printed on the lens. They fit over my prescription glasses just fine, and appear to protect the user from most directions. My only gripes are that 1) The frame doesn't appear to be particularly durable, and 2) while the wavelengths that this is designed for is stamped on the lens, the statement on the Amazon website that the glasses meet "EN207: 1998 + A1EN207: 1998 + A1: 2002 approved (European laser eyewear standards for laser safety eyewear)" is not backed up by a corresponding stamp on the glasses, themselves. And be aware, that many laser glasses are only designed to protect the eyes against only strong scattered or momentary glinting reflections from a laser beam--they probably won't survive a direct hit from a laser without some damage, including melting. So, I certainly would not use these, or any laser glasses, to look directly into a raw laser beam. These glasses are great. They fit over my regular glasses perfect and seem to work great.Okay so the case that comes with the glasses smells weird so if you store them in the case then the glasses themselves will smell weird too. Besides the case odor these glasses are great. They protect your eyes from many angles.Tested 850nm and it blocked it (as expected, even sunglasses should do this). Have not tested it on the all important 1550nm. If anyone else has, please leave a review. Assuming they block the longer wavelengths, these are surprisingly good laser safety goggles considering the price. Are confortableExcelentNice glasses, won't fit over regular glasses though. These are very comfortable. The lenses are a on a par with the quality of prescription glasses.
